Another new feature is the <b>continuous convex spacebar</b> which is easier on the thumbs. It is still split, but now located in the middle, as in most keyboards, so from now on you can hit it without even thinking about it. Additionally, we included homing keycaps (F and J), which helps you navigating the keys. With version 4.0, we are now using the ARM-based controller RP2040 as it is faster and better documented than the ATmega32U4. The CPU, GPU, and hardware implementations of standard interfaces like USB 3.0, PCIe, and MIPI DSI are all located in the NXP i.MX8M, which is called a System-on-Chip (SoC). This SoC supports LPDDR4 memory, which in this case, has 4 GB capacity. The SoM features an Atheros Ethernet PHY chip (AR8035). Both SoC and memory chips sit on a System-on-Module (SoM) that we source from Boundary Devices, a US company that specializes in i.MX reference designs. We selected their "Nitrogen8M SOM" module for Reform because it is the only available module for which you can download the complete schematics and understand what every component does. The SoM plugs into the Reform motherboard’s central 200-pin SO-DIMM connector. Our new and improved back plate is made from 2 layers of FR-4 and has a copper zone on the inside. This functions as a heat spreader for Pocket Reform's main processor. The zones without copper make radio transmission like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and broadband more reliable. A Wi-Fi antenna (Molex 146153-9150) is included. Since the error on the previous back plate is on us and we want it to be affordable for everyone, we decided to offer this part at manufacturing cost without profit. ## Antenna Placement Remove the film and stick the antenna to the lower right at the bottom, so that the connector points to the lower left. A good orientation are the two holes that are drilled into the copper.
